VOS + WTF: Edinburgh Outreach – Saturday, 27 April

This event was awesome today. 🤩🤩🤩 We started at 1pm with 14 activists and due to the good weather and calming Meadows atmosphere lasted till 4:30pm. People were still wanting to try out then so if we ever want to do a long event, this is the place.

😁🎉 It’s our best recorded Edinburgh event, giving away more than 80 bags to 101 people, 83 who were positive. 😉 30 people wanted to go Vegan.

Huge shootout to our amazing activists:

If you missed us today, please consider helping AV: Edinburgh tomorrow who are running a cube in the Meadows Compass at 12:30pm.

Testimonies:

A contemplative student told me that watching the video had made it very clear to him how wrong animal farming was. Yet, an inner voice in his brain 🧠 still kept suggesting “I could never go vegan”. “Did you know there’s a film releasing next week with that exact title” “Really? I think I have to see that. With a title like that there’s no way I could forget that.”

The film premieres at the Picture House in Edinburgh this Monday evening, followed by a panel discussion. Let all your vegan-curious friends know! 😁https://www.picturehouses.com/…/green-screen-i-could…

I spoke to a young child who had previously been told that chickens are not harmed when taking their eggs. 🥚 I explained that the industry had no use for male chicks who were then killed. The child was curious and insisted on seeing a demonstration using our chick blender prop. I then asked them if it was OK to pay for eggs if it would cause this to happen. They told me emphatically that it was not OK. They didn’t want to eat eggs anymore or eat anything that would hurt an animal. His dad who was listening to our conversation agreed, so I encouraged him to use the resources to go vegan for the animals.
